TV Size Guide

A good fit starts with measurements, not just screen size. Before choosing a TV stand, compare your television’s dimensions and weight with the furniture specifications.

Screen size isn’t TV width

The advertised size of a TV is the diagonal measurement of its screen. It does not tell you the overall width of the television or the space its feet need. Use the manufacturer’s specifications for your exact TV model.

1. Check your TV’s measurements

  • Overall width and height of the television.
  • Full outer-to-outer width and depth of its feet, or the width and depth of its central base.
  • Total weight including the feet or base.

2. Compare with the stand

Check the stand’s usable top surface, not just its overall dimensions. Both TV feet, or the entire central base, must be supported on a suitable flat surface in accordance with the TV manufacturer’s instructions.

Check the furniture’s stated maximum load and any TV-size restrictions. A stand being wide enough does not confirm it can safely support your TV. If the usable surface dimensions or load limit are not listed, ask us before ordering.

3. Make room for your equipment

Measure your soundbar, media box, games console and other equipment against the usable shelf and cupboard dimensions. Allow the ventilation and cable clearances required by each equipment manufacturer.

4. Plan safe positioning

Follow the TV and furniture manufacturers’ assembly, positioning and anti-tip instructions, including any anchoring requirements. Do not exceed the stated load limit.

Before you order

  • Check your exact TV model’s dimensions and weight.
  • Confirm its feet or base fit fully on the usable top surface.
  • Check the stand’s load limit and any size restrictions.
  • Allow space for equipment, ventilation and cables.
  • Check the manufacturer’s placement and safety instructions.
